5 Straight Wins for Knights

The New York Empire got a superb performance from right fielder Carlos Gonzales. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Brooklyn. The Knights won the game, 5-4. Gonzales was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs. Mike Rodriguez got the win, improving to 13-4. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Ernie Woodard closed the game out for Brooklyn, earning his 32nd save.
Melvin Muro dealt the Empire a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Brooklyn leading 2-1, Muro, who led the AL in doubles with 58 in 2039, hit a 0-2 changeup for a 2-run single.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Muro.
Brooklyn has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
