Detroit right fielder Jose Caravaggio was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Pizzas, 8-6, in 10 innings. Los Angeles pitcher Evan King earned the win, hiking his record to 4-3. Vance Niec suffered the loss. The Kings raised their record to 50-67.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Gabe Herrera came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Detroit pitcher Julio Diaz, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 8-6.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Kings manager Jim KP. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
