Blueberry Bulldogs Handle Buffalo, Snag 8-3 Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs and Buffalo Buffalo.
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs knocked off the Buffalo Buffalo, 8-3, in Federation League action at Bulldogs Ballpark. Sudbury designated hitter and Brooklyn, New York, native Josh Deere had an outstanding performance. Deere, now 11-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs.
Hugo Cabrera, who finished 2nd in the FL in triples with 6 last year, contributed to the Sudbury win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"Josh was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Sudbury manager Coach John.
Sudbury occupies second place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division at 58-60.
