Blueberry Bulldogs Turn Back Buffalo, 4-3
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs overcame a pretty good performance by Buffalo first baseman Matt Nagy, beating the Buffalo, 4-3, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Nagy went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Dudley. He tossed 110 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Sudbury is now 57-60, Buffalo 55-62.
The Blueberry Bulldogs got a big hit from third baseman Michel Carvalho. In the bottom of the sixth, Carvalho smacked a 2-run home run off Buffalo pitcher Glenn DePue. It was his 16th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Blueberry Bulldogs were ahead, 4-3.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Carvalho said. "That's why you play the game."
