Brooklyn beat Lansing on the strength of starting pitcher Mike Rodriguez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Jaiden Randle, credited with the save, is now 5 for 7 in save opportunities. Brooklyn is now 58-57. Lansing is 46-69.

Brooklyn used a well-timed hit by Ed Putty to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Knights ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"I thought Mike threw the ball well across the board," said Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang.
