Aztecs Get Dramatic 1-0 Triumph

The San Antonio Aztecs had to overcome a fine performance from Saskatchewan pitcher Peter Mgulia to grab a 1-0 win at Estadio Azteca. Mgulia allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. San Antonio reliever Zion Anthony picked up the win, upping his record to 3-8. Siu-chung Chieu shouldered the loss. Yes, it was a win for San Antonio; but their 38-77 mark is nothing to crow about.
The Aztecs relied on second baseman Shingo Hayashi for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Hayashi.
