Knights Win, 5-2, in 14
|
The Brooklyn Knights outlasted the Lansing Red Storm, 5-2, in 14 innings. Brooklyn center fielder Kanezane Ohata stood out with his performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis Contreras picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Kyle Meadors suffered the loss. Brooklyn goes to 66-49. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
Had Ohata not come through in the top of the 14th, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Ohata hit a 3-run home run. The Knights took the lead, 5-2, and never looked back.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Lansing manager GM TDen.
