Widel Hits 2 home runs in Porters Win
|
Dublin designated hitter Jason Widel helped his team beat the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3. Widel, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2041, went 3 for 4 for the Porters. Jim Steeb, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 8-7. The Dublin winning streak has reached 3 games.
With Dublin trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Widel hit a curveball from Kevin Feltes for a 2-run home run. It was his 33rd home run of the season and put the Porters ahead, 4-3.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Los Angeles manager Jim KP.
