The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Desert Storm Stadium, knocking off the Arizona Desert Storm, 6-2. Starting pitcher Jason Scothorn played a key role in the triumph. The Beavers improved to 23-23.

Danny Gutierrez had a big 2-run home run for the Beavers in the top of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Ron Cook, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2048, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Beavers on top, 3-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Beavers manager GM admiralballtr8s.
