The Pittsburgh Yinzers picked up a win at Ballpark of East Haddam, defeating the East Haddam Hyenas, 6-2. Starting pitcher Dave Reed was an essential part of his team's success. The save went to Andy Buhrke, number 37 for him. Pittsburgh is now 65-47, East Haddam 48-65.
Pittsburgh used the hitting of John Beaufort to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yinzers on top, 3-1. For the game, Beaufort had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Pittsburgh manager Billy Caceres.
