Barber Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The Portland Beavers topped the Havana Sugar Kings, 3-1, in Alliance League action at Beavers Park. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and New York, native Ray Barber. Tony Orellana closed the game out for Portland, earning his 11th save. After today's action, Portland sits at 20-25; Havana slips to 20-25.
Barber imposed his will on the Sugar Kings, scattering 2 hits over 8 innings while striking out 10. The left-hander upped his season record to 3-3.
