Wayfinders Get 9-7 Win Versus St. Louis
|
Steve Buffington impressed in the 9-7 Waikiki win over St. Louis. Buffington, who finished 4th in the FL in wins above replacement with 4.8 in 2048, was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Waikiki pitcher Cameron Elson earned the win, hiking his record to 4-4. Jim Harrington suffered the loss. Danny Dudley recorded the save for Waikiki, his 8th of the season.
Buffington contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Waikiki in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Buffington took a changeup from Jim Harrington and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Wayfinders to leap in front, 3-2.
"I know we have our doubters," said St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The Wayfinders raised their record to 16-28.
