Porters Hand St. Louis 4-0 Loss
|
Dublin used a superb performance from starting pitcher Andy Pittman to down the St. Louis Archies, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Pittman, now 6-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 5. Dublin is now 28-15, 7 games up in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steve Barone? The Dublin shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Porters on top, 1-0. For the game, Barone had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Barone.
