Thomas Lifts Cossacks to 8-4 Triumph
The Kyiv Cossacks downed the East Haddam Hyenas, 8-4, at Kyiv Grounds. Matt Thomas led the way, going 4-for-4 for Kyiv. With the victory, the Cossacks upped their record to 25-18.

Thomas had a key at-bat for Kyiv in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Kyiv an early 3-0 lead.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Thomas. "You've got to get results."
