Kings Deal Waikiki 4-2 Defeat
|
Los Angeles picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, bumping off the Waikiki Wayfinders, 4-2. Pitcher Jon Avery was a major reason the Kings emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Avery, now 6-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Los Angeles raised its record to 21-20 with the win.
In the bottom of the fifth, Luis Garcia delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Los Angeles center fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Kings in front, 4-2.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Garcia, "one at-bat at a time."
