Arizona beat Waikiki on the strength of starting pitcher Kevin Spencer's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 9-2. The victory gives Arizona a record of 25-16.

Alex Fernandez had a big 2-run triple for the Desert Storm in the top of the fourth inning. With Arizona leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Bobby Avery, who is tied for 8th in the FL in holds with 2, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Desert Storm ahead, 3-0.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager GM Yokotuna.
