Archies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Pizzas
In the 5-4 St. Louis win over Detroit, the impact of Brian Sanders was substantial. Sanders, who finished 4th in the AL in home runs with 30 in 2033, was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Derrick, 2-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. At 20-20, the Archies claim first place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division.

Andy Morrow provided a timely hit. The St. Louis left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Archies on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"This is a resilient bunch," said St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth.
