Starting pitcher Shuhei Ouchi was a major factor in the 4-2 St. Louis Archies triumph over the Havana Sugar Kings. Ouchi, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Jesus Gutierrez was called on to finish, recording his 10th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Albert Salgado? The St. Louis center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Archies on top, 3-2. For the game, Salgado had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Ouchi. "But I like how we're playing right now."
The win elevated the Archies to 26-14.
