The Kyiv Cossacks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Osaka first baseman Juan Redondo by beating the Takoyaki, 5-4, at Takoyaki Park. Redondo was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs. Mark Powers got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 4 runs on 11 hits in 6.2 innings. With the win over Osaka, the Cossacks improved to 19-19.

Kyiv used a clutch at-bat from Sam Lucot to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Kyiv manager Salvador Rubio commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
