Brown 5-for-5 for Grosse Pointe
|
No matter what the Colorado Springs Generals threw at him, Shamel Brown hit it. He easily handled Generals pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Better Mades triumph, 16-8, at Ballpark of Colorado Springs.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Brown's quip, Generals skipper Collin Walker said he "would take him up on that next time."
Shamel Brown singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in a run in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
Brown is hitting .468 for the season with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 47 at-bats and played in 10 games.
