5-for-7 Game for Garcia

After a 5-hit effort to lead Can Tho's 21-6 victory over the Euharlee Hammerheads, left fielder Samuel Garcia told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the CBD Rookie League-level is really something special."
The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at Can Tho Park with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Hammerheads.
"His swing is getting there," said Cobras skipper Esteve Varanda, who spoke glowingly of Garcia after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Samuel did that to perfection."
Samuel Garcia struck out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Thus far this year, Garcia is batting .400 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
