Fante Batters Can Tho for 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Gordie Fante as he led the charge to a nifty 9-3 win over the Cobras. The Nogales right fielder was pure misery for the Can Tho pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Fante put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Jesus Cisneros, manager for the Cobras, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Gordie Fante singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jon Andrade in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Currently Fante is batting .333 with 1 home run and 4 RBIs.
