Desert Storm Earn 6-0 Home Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Portland Beavers and Arizona Desert Storm get after it.
The Arizona Desert Storm downed the Portland Beavers, 6-0, at Desert Storm Stadium. The Desert Storm were led by Joe Gainey. Gainey was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Greg McDowell was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 8 save opportunities.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Gainey hit a solo home run off Paolo Ferrari. It propelled the Desert Storm into the lead, 1-0.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Gainey.
Arizona raised its record to 64-49 with the win.
