Thanks in large part to first baseman Kelvin William, the Kyiv Cossacks beat the Detroit Pizzas, 6-4. William was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Kyiv reliever Jimmy Gold picked up the win, upping his record to 6-7. George Liston absorbed the loss. With the win over Detroit, the Cossacks improved to 53-60.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, William hit a changeup from George Liston for a 2-run home run. The Cossacks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," William told the Kyiv Herald.
