Lansing Decked, 9-1, by Cossacks
|
The Kyiv Cossacks downed the Lansing Red Storm, 9-1, at Kyiv Grounds. Stellar pitching by Larry Collier had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. In 8.1 innings, Collier surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Kyiv is now 52-60.
The tension was thick in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and Lansing trailing 6-0, Larry Collier had to get a big out. On a 0-1 fastball, he retired Tyler Farrell, who lined out.
