St. Louis Gets 6-4 Road Win
|
The St. Louis Archies racked up a win at Ballpark of East Haddam, bumping off the East Haddam Hyenas, 6-4. Wayne Murphy, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. Murphy got the win, improving to 9-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Murphy allowed 4 runs. The Archies raised their record to 66-44.
Brian Sanders, the eight-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sanders contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put St. Louis up, 5-4.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Murphy.
