Knights Lose Big to Super Volcano, 10-2
|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano thumped the Brooklyn Knights, 10-2, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Andres Jaquez was a big reason his team got the win. Jaquez went 2-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jack Frick, the winner, improved to 8-10. He held the Knights to 1 run on 4 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 3. Yellowstone is now 52-59.
Yellowstone relied on the bat of Nate Horton to get the win. The right fielder produced a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Super Volcano ahead, 4-1. For the game, Horton had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
