Another game, another loss for the struggling Kyiv Cossacks.

The Lansing Red Storm overcame a pretty good performance by Kyiv center fielder Sam Lucot, beating the Cossacks, 8-7, at Kyiv Grounds. Lucot went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Cameron Elson. He's now 22 for 28 in save chances.

Lansing used a timely hit from Terry Chase to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Storm ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Chase.

The Cossacks, at 51-60, have lost 8 in a row.
