The Omaha Aces and Detroit Pizzas played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
In a tight affair between the Omaha Aces and the Detroit Pizzas, pitcher Jorge Lujan was in the zone. The Omaha right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Sam Scott, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Adrian Ducote earned save number 27 this season.
Had Greg Barford not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Barford hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Aces.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Barford said.
The Aces move to 51-56 with the win, while the Pizzas drop to 62-46.
