Yinzers Capture Close Win
|
The Pittsburgh Yinzers tallied a win at Sportsman's Park, throttling the Los Angeles Kings, 2-1. Starting pitcher Dave Reed was a big reason for his team's success. Andy Buhrke picked up the save for Pittsburgh, his 35th of the year. With the win, Pittsburgh upped its record to 61-46.
John Beaufort's at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth was critical. The Pittsburgh center fielder hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Los Angeles skipper Jim KP.
