The Los Angeles Kings had to reckon with Havana Sugar Kings hurler Luis Lezama. Lezama, who led the AL in strikeouts with 276 last year, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Sugar Kings triumph. With the win, Havana upped its record to 20-19.

Havana used the hitting of Andy Neufeld to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sugar Kings on top, 3-1. For the game, Neufeld had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
