Wayfinders Best Desert Storm in Pitching Duel
|
Waikiki Wayfinders pitcher Richard Arocha was in fine form, leading his team past the Arizona Desert Storm, 2-0. The winner was Arocha. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ivan Chavez. The win has Waikiki at 40-66.
Scott Gamet had a big solo home run for the Wayfinders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Waikiki leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Ivan Chavez, who is tied for 10th in the FL in wins with 9, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Wayfinders on top, 2-0.
