Knights Take Down Dragon Warriors, 9-8
|
The Brooklyn Knights topped the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 9-8, in Alliance League action at Brooklyn Coliseum. The game was highlighted by the performance of Brooklyn second baseman Danny Ortiz. Reliever Eric White picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dan O'Meara, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in holds with 4, took the loss. The Knights improved their record to 13-25 with the win over Hanoi.
Had Dave Muzzy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Muzzy hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Knights.
Muzzy expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
