Despite a fine performance by right fielder Josh George, the Yellowstone Super Volcano lost to the Detroit Pizzas, 6-5. George went 4 for 7 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Julio Diaz, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. With the victory, the Pizzas upped their record to 19-18.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 17th when Jay Naylor hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old right-handed pitcher Phil Hubner to win the game for Detroit. The home crowd went wild.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Naylor.
