The Hanoi Dragon Warriors got a stellar effort from pitcher Jon Gilson, helping Hanoi score a win over the visiting Portland Beavers, 4-1. The win for the Dragon Warriors lifted their record to 56-49.

Hanoi took a 4-1 lead on Danny Laines's 7th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Laines hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Portland pitcher Jason Scothorn visibly frustrated.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Laines. "And not try to do too much."
