Buffalo Sent Home with 9-6 Loss
|
Russwood Park was the site for Federation League action featuring the Buffalo Buffalo and Memphis Chicks.
The Memphis Chicks topped the Buffalo Buffalo, 9-6, with youngster Jim Garnet playing a key role. Garnet was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Chicks in the win. Adrian Ducote wrapped it up, recording his 21st save.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the seventh, Garnet had a key at-bat for Memphis. With a runner on 3rd, Garnet hit a run-scoring single off Dave Arteaga, making the score 3-2, Chicks.
"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Garnet.
Memphis, now 45-58, holds down third place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division.
