Caravaggio Lifts Pizzas to 6-1 Triumph
|
The Detroit Pizzas beat the Pittsburgh Yinzers by a score of 6-1. Detroit right fielder Jose Caravaggio deserved the lion's share of the credit. Caravaggio slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pizzas. Nate Spinks earned the win for Detroit. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 12. With the win, he raised his record to 12-5. Detroit is now 54-48.
In the top of the sixth, Caravaggio put his team in front with his 27th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Dave Reed, made it 2-1, Detroit.
