Desert Storm 6-2 Winners Over Kyiv
|
Led by Kenichi Kanzaki, the Arizona Desert Storm downed the Kyiv Cossacks, 6-2. Kanzaki went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Desert Storm. The Desert Storm improved their record to 49-53 with the win over Kyiv.
Marcos Nevarez, who finished 3rd in the FL in slugging percentage with .520 in 2048, took Kyiv hurler Jimmy Gold deep in the bottom of the second. His 3-run home run put the Desert Storm on top, 3-1. In all, Nevarez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Kanzaki said. "The limelight's never bothered me."
