|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano beat the East Haddam Hyenas by a score of 4-2. Yellowstone catcher Pedro Gonzalez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Gonzalez was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Super Volcano. John Griese earned the win to go to 6-10. He allowed 2 runs on 11 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The Super Volcano win now puts them at 46-56.
Gonzalez had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Mark Foglesong, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Super Volcano a 4-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Gonzalez.
