5 Hits for Steaks Rodriguez
|
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Omaha's 12-11 win over Sao Paolo, catcher Jose Rodriguez was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Memorial Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Rodriguez said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Jose Rodriguez hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
This year, Rodriguez has socked 35 hits in 133 at-bats for a .263 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .279 pace and his totals also include 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
