The East Haddam Hyenas beat the Arizona Desert Storm, 7-5, at Desert Storm Stadium. Matt McCauley, who finished 3rd in the FL in hits with 176 in 2045, starred for East Haddam. He went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. East Haddam reliever Jason Derrick snagged the win, upping his record to 2-3. Terry Donohue shouldered the loss. East Haddam goes to 15-21, Arizona to 21-15.

East Haddam needed the clutch hitting of Jerrod Conners to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hyenas on top, 7-5. For the game, Conners had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Conners told the East Haddam Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
