Pizzas 2-1 Winners Over Havana
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Detroit Pizzas and Havana Sugar Kings came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Detroit registered a win at Pizzas Ballpark by beating the Havana Sugar Kings, 2-1. Pitcher Ed Pike was one reason why the Pizzas triumphed. Pike picked up the win for Detroit, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Earning his 6th save for Detroit was George Liston.
Dylan Lucas had a big 2-run home run for the Pizzas in the bottom of the second inning. With Detroit trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Jorge Figueroa, who is tied for 9th in the AL in quality starts with 4, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Pizzas on top, 2-1.
"We did just enough to win," Lucas said.
Detroit now has a record of 18-18 with the win.
