Porter Rips Phoenix for 5 Hits
|
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Phil Porter. Porter went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Phoenix pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Blue Raiders Ballpark, he had a 5-for-7 line and a day he will long remember. And the Kinsale Fisherman had a win, 11-10, over the Palisades.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
Phil Porter grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Corey Coady in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Rex Beers in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Walker in the 13th.
Porter is batting at a .207 pace this season, picking up 19 hits in 92 at-bats with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
