Rader Raps Ho Chi Minh City for 6 Hits
|
Paul Rader put on a hitting clinic as the Portland Pickles dumped the Ho Chi Minh City Tigers, 16-6, at Saigon Ballpark.
The Portland reliever made Ho Chi Minh City defenders earn their pay, lashing Ho Chi Minh City pitching for 6 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Rader said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Paul Rader singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Scott Hoffman in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
To date, Rader has collected no saves in 1 relief appearance. He has rung up 51 strikeouts and 24 walks in 75.1 innings while registering a 3.82 ERA and a 3-4 won-lost record.
