Big Day by Takahashi Ignites Empire Win
The New York Empire beat the San Antonio Aztecs, 4-3, in part because of first baseman Suguru Takahashi. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Kwan-wuk Tae. His record is now 2-2. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Empire. The loss makes San Antonio 12-23.

With New York leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Takahashi hit a circle change from Josh Reed for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Empire ahead, 4-0.
