Beavers Squelch Wayfinders Offense in Shutout Win
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Beavers Park, taking down the Waikiki Wayfinders, 5-0. Starting pitcher Miguel Romero was a big reason why. Romero, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks. Portland now sits at 18-15, while Waikiki falls to 12-21.

The Beavers got a big at-bat from third baseman Marco Estrada. For the game, Estrada was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Romero.
