Scorpions Earn Win with Late Rally
The Arizona Scorpions beat the Los Angeles Kings, 8-7, at Desert Storm Stadium. Jay Marshall, in particular, was impressive. He went 5 for 5 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Arizona reliever Ramiro Rocha snagged the win, upping his record to 2-3. Eric Barone shouldered the loss. After today's action, Arizona sits at 12-21; Los Angeles slips to 18-15.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 29-year old center fielder Jacob Jeffries had a chance to be the hero. Los Angeles pitcher Eric Barone wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Jeffries hit a sacrifice fly. The Scorpions had themselves a thrilling win.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Los Angeles manager Jim KP. "The effort was great."
