Cossacks designated hitter William Melnick put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Osaka Takoyaki. Melnick was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Kyiv in the contest. Mark Powers got the win, improving to 5-1. He held the Takoyaki to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Cheong-won Hwang was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

Sam Lucot had a big 2-run home run for the Cossacks in the bottom of the second inning. With Kyiv leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Danny Pantoja, who is tied for 5th in the FL in innings pitched with 47.0, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Cossacks on top, 3-0.

"Feels good to get the job done," Lucot said after the game.

With the loss, Osaka falls to 12-20.
