East Haddam Gets 6-3 Win Against Wayfinders
|
East Haddam Hyenas right-hander Alex Watkins pitched a good game against the Waikiki Wayfinders at Ballpark of East Haddam, leading his team to victory, 6-3. Jesse Lutz earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-4. The Hyenas raised their record to 36-61.
Had Matthew Kalb not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kalb hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Hyenas.
East Haddam manager Joe Jankowski commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
