Behind a fine performance from Chris Nicotra, the Kyiv Cossacks knocked off the Detroit Pizzas, 5-4. Nicotra was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Cossacks. Billy Roland picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-7. He struck out 5 in 7.2 innings. With the win, Kyiv upped its record to 59-39.

Kyiv took a 5-3 lead on Nicotra's 24th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Phil Beard in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Kyiv to the win.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Nicotra.
