Powers Silences Sudbury Bats
|
The Kyiv Cossacks got great pitching from fireballing left-hander Mark Powers, allowing them to bump off the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 2-0. Jimmy Gold got the save, his 4th in 7 chances. With the win over Sudbury, the Cossacks improved to 58-38.
Powers delivered a quality start for Kyiv. The 6-foot-6 left-hander allowed no earned runs on 1 hit over 8 innings of work.
"Mark set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin.
